1st(week,blog,slog,post)

Hello to all the Sloggers, CSC165 students/staff and anyone who is reading.

This is my first attempt at blogging and I feel really excited to express my ideas about CSC165. So after this post I can officially say that I am no longer a blog virgin.

prostitutes appeal to pope!

What a great first week it was at U of T, there was a buzz surrounding everywhere I went in the campus, and that was the case for CSC165 first class as well. To be honest I was not sure what I was going to get from this class, because of the title it holds; Mathematical Expression and Reasoning for Computer Science, it certainly felt and sounded like something new and like all new things there was uncertainty and excitement of a new challenge following it. Anyway, the ambiguity jokes were right on target and the whole class got a good laugh out of them. On the other hand, I realized that computers don't have a sense of humor, they follow logical approach and precision.

Give it some time and think it through

Now about the second class, everyone can have a bad day and I think this was my bad day. Maybe I forgot to drink my brain enhancing juice, but for some reason I struggled to make sense of the material in the class, so I left the class a little confused and deep in thought. It was until later that night that a shining light bulb appeared above my head. I realized I had to change my perspective about CSC165, I realized the way to dance with this course is with pure mathematical logic state of mind and a lot similar to MAT137. PROOF PROOF PROOF and always going back to definitions.

TGIF

Even if there was still a little confusion about the second day material, it was gone at the beginning of the third class when the Ven diagrams where used by Prof. Heap to explain. This is why I love Fridays, good things always happen, and it was no different for my Friday CSC165 class. The topic of how to approach a problem the right way was introduced and I learned the recipe of strategizing before jumping into solving a problem. Quantifiers and counter examples were discussed too.

I have to say I am really excited now that I have a much clear perspective on CSC 165 and I look forward to post as frequently as possible on here.
